The goal of Indefinite Transit is to bring the tourist and local alike, a slew of indefinite options for the city of New York. A guide for a city that is ever changing, Indefinite Transit will bring you Indefinite: travels, fun, eats, fashion, adventure, culture, music, outings, options…….and what ever more I can think up for the traveler with Champagne taste on a beer budget.
As for me, who am I? How will you trust me? Well, I am both a tourist and a New York City local. A former West Coaster by way of Los Angeles, I moved to New York to attend University. That was four years ago. I am now a senior at NYU, and have double majored in journalism and comparative literature.
One of my favorite past times is exploring this amazing city and discovering all that it has to offer. Sure, the obvious stuff is great – the MET, Central Park, 30 Rock, Soho, Statue of Liberty, MoMA, etc – and I frequent most of them often, but there is so much more to New York than its main touristic sites. If you are a traveler like me, you want to find the spots where the locals go, you want to frequent interesting and culturally varied events, and you want to learn about the people, food, music, etc. that make this city the multi-cultural, multi-ethnic, and multi-faceted metropolis that it is today.
As far as I am concerned, we travel every day, each time we step out on to the street from an apartment or home, get on a subway or bike or car, and begin that daily journey. Each day there is something new to discover.
Why do I travel?
Maybe it is my background – I have a Colombian mother and Italian father who was born and raised in Mexico – that has made me seek out different cultural adventures, but with them I’ve traveled all over the world, searching for the best, most unusual, most delicious, most exciting, most memorable things each city has to offer. I have covered six continents (Antartica still evades me!), lived in six different countries, speak five languages, and passionately love to be in transit; indefinitely.
So let me be your guide.
