Indefinite Transit: NYC Edition

Every year I wait for the Daily Candy email that is going to give me the best sample sale heads up in town. Today the mega one arrived. 19 sales! Oh my. Well, after combing through all the listings, I will give you here what I think is the best of the best and the ones that are really worth going to. So, Daily Candy content, furthered by our even more editorial eye. We will highlight the sales that are happening now and give you more once the others get closer. Also, I will organize them by geographical area, so you can get all your shopping done at the greatest convenience.

I am going to go from less expensive to more expensive and or, where I feel the deal/ savings ratio is highest.

1. Vena Cava. I really like this company. The dresses are flirty, fun, and sexy. Even though they will be selling stuff from Spring and Fall, these are all pieces that can be perfectly layered with a thick, textured tight and worn with a big military jacket, fur, etc. and mega boot. Great Winter fashion.

2. Botkier. Ok, so these deals are still in the pricey region, but a good leather bag, is a good leather bag and Botkier is a good, solid, respectable brand. Quality, but still understated enough, which I like. I am over the “IT” bag. If I am spending this much money on a carry-all, I want it to carry me through the next couple years, not just the next fashion season, you know?

Why: Prince satchel is $275 (reg. $575), Drea boot is $250 (reg. $595), and more leather goods are up to 75 percent off.

3. Giles & Brother. I just discovered this brand and I must say, I really like it. I already want two of the pieces I saw – mainly the large antler necklace ($190) and the nailhead earrings ($70).  So cute! (These were the prices listed on their website, but they might certainly be less at the sale!) This sale is located in the Garment District, so all you Midtowners, curb your lunch breaks towards Eataly and make a day of it.

Why: Crystal necklaces, enamel snake bracelets, and more from the lumberjack designer are up to 75 percent off.

4. Diane von Furstenberg. Need I say more? Every woman should one one of these dresses. Nothing will make your body look more bang’n (may I add that she designs for women with real bodies) and no dress will ever last you longer. It travels very well, doesn’t wrinkle, and can go day to night. For $150, they are a STEAL!!!! She also really knows how to play and mix color and pattern –  resist the black New York uniform!

Why: Signature printed wrap dresses are $150 (reg. $325), embellished cardigans are $80 (reg. $495), and coats are $350 (reg. $625).

5. Lela Rose. I just found out about this brand and it looks pretty cool.

6. Charlotte Ronson. Ok, well all know her as Lindsay’s off-and-on girlfriend’s sister, but Ms. Ronson makes some pretty cool threads and they are on sale.
