Indefinite Outings: Nicholas Forker’s Astronaut on Rag & Bone’s Art Wall – Photos & Video.
Today we wanted to draw attention to a mural by artist Nicholas Forker, illustrating his astronaut sitting on a couch outside of the Rag & Bone store, on East Houston and Elizabeth Street, on the border of Soho area becomes and the Lower East Side.
Nicholas Forker is no stranger to Indefinite Transit; he was also one of the artists that participated in the “Hueless” show, this past March, at our favorite art gallery in Chelsea, Mallick Williams & Co. His work of art, which features another manifestation of the astronaut you see below is, for a brief moment, in our Indefinite Transit episode on Mallick Williams, which you can see here.
I also found a cool video of Forker in action. See here:

I love when art is taken to the streets. Forker’s ball point pen on mylar rendition of this, which was installed at Mallick Williams & Co. was one of my favorite pieces in the show and it is really nice that more people will get to see the protagonist of his art – could we call the astronaut that? – out on the streets of NYC for all to see.
It is also really cool of Rag & Bone to foster this kind of sophisticated street art (they own the wall, after all) and showcase cool artists. We will keep up on what they “exhibit” next.
Enjoy!
Any cool NYC art walls you guys want me to cover? Comment and let me know!
